Neva Nicole is a passionate aquatic professional with over 20 years of experience, dedicated to water safety and fostering a love for swimming. She began her career in 2000 as a lifeguard before college, eventually becoming the Aquatics Coordinator, Aquatic Director, and Senior Program Director. Neva has worked with organizations like the YMCA of the Treasure Coast and Coastal Georgia, as well as the City of Stuart Parks and Recreation, Glynn County Parks and Recreation, the American Red Cross, the American Heart Association, and Glynn County Search and Rescue.
In 2022, Neva founded Georgia Swim School, which has rapidly expanded. What started as a one-person operation has grown into a thriving business with 9 instructors and 2 year-round locations, teaching in 4 counties. From teaching fewer than 200 lessons in her first year to instructing over 800 in year two, Neva’s commitment to water safety has led to incredible growth. The school now has additional locations, including an indoor pool in a neighboring county and a contract with the City to offer lessons.
Neva is the creator of Joyful Waters, a water safety program she developed and wrote a course manual for. She has also authored three children's books, one coloring book, and two parent guides, all aimed at educating and inspiring families about water safety.
As the owner of Brunswick CPR Lady, Neva continues to teach swimming lessons in the summer and CPR throughout the year. She is deeply committed to her mission of preventing drowning tragedies and ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or skill level, can enjoy the water safely.
When she’s not in the pool, Neva is raising two teenage sons. She truly lives and breathes water safety and is proud to spend every day teaching, training, and advocating for a world free from drowning.
