Neva Nicole lived in South Florida with her parents. One day they drove by the YMCA. The marquee outside read "Lifeguard Training" and gave details. Her Dad offered to sign her up for the class. Before the course was over she interviewed with the Aquatics Director- she was promised the job if she successfully finished the course. She did, that was in 10th Grade. Since then she has enjoyed each and every moment of life on the deck.
As Neva Nicole sat in that lifeguard stand watching the water, watching the swimmer, seeing the different strokes- and watching others teach lessons. She found herself in her boss's office says "I want to do that" - teach lessons. She shadows some of the instructors. Then completed the YMCA of the USA fundamental of swimming, Parent and Child, and preschool aquatics and children and adult. She later acquired her American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification and has enjoyed teaching infants to the elderly. Her favoirate classes are Adults, preschoolers 3 to 5 year-olds, and fear and phobia.
